It is the form of an object, and not the material that it is made of, that has a stronger influence over the feng shui of a space, and if artwork is beautiful to you, then it is good for feng shui. The subject matter of a painting does not have a strong effect, so a picture of a waterfall cannot substitute for real water, and a romantic picture may encourage you to tap into your own romantic energy, but it will not attract romance in and of itself.
