LOOKING AFTER THE BIRDS DURING WINTER

When feeding birds during the winter ...

1. make sure you have the kind of seed the species of birds in your area need.
2. look for the biggest mix of seeds to satisfy various species of birds.
3. plant trees and shrubs that will be heavy with berries for birds’ winter forage.
4. leave them alone, they are wild animals and should look after themselves.

C. Plant for winter forage; and A. If you do have a feeder, go to a reputable store and make sure you get the right seed. Don’t settle for cheap!
